A set of three wooden coasters featuring Niju-Asanoha, Wanowa’s interpretation of the traditional Japanese Asanoha (hemp leaf) pattern.
The delicate geometric pattern is cut from a single layer of Birch plywood, creating a light, intricate structure in which the material itself becomes the ornament. The natural wood grain and slightly darkened cut edges give each piece depth and character without the addition of color.
Asanoha has long been used in Japanese design and textiles. Inspired by the strong and fast-growing hemp plant, the pattern is traditionally associated with growth, strength and well-being.
